Who this notice covers

This notice covers the Expand Digital Apps website, the four standalone finance calculators, the combined UK Money Toolkit and the Ping Thing Android app. Source is maintained in the Expand Digital Apps GitHub repository, which currently requires repository access.

Accounts, analytics and advertising

• No product requires an Expand Digital Apps account or sign-in.
• No advertising or behavioural tracking code is included.
• No first-party analytics service is included.
• The website does not deliberately set tracking cookies.

If you follow a link to GitHub, Buy Me a Coffee or another external service, that service has its own privacy practices.

Apps website and theme preference

The Apps site uses a small amount of local browser storage only when you manually choose light or dark mode. The value is named theme and contains either light or dark. It stays in that browser until you clear site data or choose another theme. Blocking local storage does not prevent the site from working; the choice simply will not persist.

Browsers may also cache static files such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images and the social SVG as part of normal web operation.

Finance calculators and the UK Money Toolkit

The Take-Home Pay, Stamp Duty, Mortgage and Tip & Bill Splitter calculations run in the browser or app on your device. Entered salaries, property prices, mortgage figures, bill amounts and calculation results are not sent to an Expand Digital Apps server.

Local calculator storage

The calculators use on-device preferences so useful settings can survive a restart. Depending on the tool, this can include entered salary and deduction settings, property purchase choices, mortgage scenarios, bill-split diner and item labels, theme, recent tools and guided-tool progress. The data stays in that browser profile or app installation and is not synced to Expand Digital Apps.

Each app provides a clear or reset action for its own saved data. The Money Toolkit launcher clears only its launcher history; each embedded calculator manages its own namespaced preferences. Browser or operating-system site/app-data controls can also remove all local preferences and PWA caches.

The web editions are installable progressive web apps. After the required files have been downloaded, calculation logic can run offline. Loading or updating a web app still makes normal requests to the hosting service. Browser caches and installed PWA files remain under your browser or operating system's controls.

Some tools let you copy a result or summary. Nothing is copied until you choose that action. Once copied, the text is handled by your device's clipboard and any clipboard synchronisation you have enabled.

Ping Thing network diagnostics

Ping Thing has no Expand Digital Apps backend, account system or analytics. However, a network diagnostic cannot be entirely offline: its purpose is to send requests from your Android device. The destination, your network provider, DNS infrastructure and other systems on the route may observe ordinary connection information such as your public IP address, time of request and the target being checked.

Tools that contact the target directly

• Ping and Latency send ICMP echo requests to the host or address you enter.
• Trace experimentally varies ping TTL values to discover route hops. Intermediate networks may see these probes.
• Ports attempts TCP connections to the selected ports on the target.
• Subnet performs IPv4 CIDR maths locally and does not need a remote data provider.
• Resolving a hostname for a direct diagnostic may also involve the DNS resolver configured on your device or network.

Only test systems and networks that you own or are authorised to assess.

Named data providers

Ping Thing shows a provider disclosure before these checks. These providers are independent services. Expand Digital Apps does not control their logs, retention periods or onward processing, so review their published policies before continuing if that matters to you.

Data kept on the Android device

Ping Thing persists only an allowlisted set of local settings: theme, default endpoint, latency warning threshold, port-scan timeout, favourite endpoints and bounded recent endpoints. It does not persist public or local IP addresses, diagnostic results, generated reports, DNS or RDAP response data, active processes or network snapshots. The Settings screen can clear saved settings and history. Content you explicitly copy is passed to the Android clipboard.

Cloudflare Pages hosting and server logs

The Apps website and web calculators are served through Cloudflare Pages. Like most hosting and content-delivery services, Cloudflare receives ordinary request and security data when a page or app asset is fetched. This can include IP address, date and time, requested URL, HTTP headers, browser or user-agent information, referring page and security events.

Expand Digital Apps does not add analytics identifiers to those requests. Some operational or security information may be available through the hosting account or retained by Cloudflare under its service configuration and policies. No fixed retention period is promised here because provider features, account settings and legal requirements can change. Cloudflare's own privacy documentation governs its processing.

Retention and deletion

• Expand Digital Apps has no server-side user profile or calculator-input database to delete. Saved calculator state is local to your device.
• Clear the apps.expand.digital site data in your browser to remove the Apps site theme and cached files. Each calculator subdomain has its own local preferences and PWA cache, which can be removed through its in-app reset action or browser controls.
• Use Ping Thing's clear action to remove its saved settings and history, and clear the Android clipboard for copied reports. Android controls process and system-level retention.
• Hosting and third-party provider logs follow the relevant provider's retention settings and policies. Expand Digital Apps cannot delete data held independently by ipwho.is, Cloudflare, rdap.org, a registry, your ISP or a target operator.

Children and sensitive information

The tools are general-purpose utilities and are not designed to collect personal profiles. Avoid entering personal or confidential information as a network target, and do not post salary details, IP addresses or other sensitive data in a public support issue.

Changes to this notice

This page will be updated when data flows or providers materially change. The date near the top identifies the current published version. Earlier versions can be inspected through the repository history.

Questions or concerns

No private support email address is published. Use the contact guidance or the owner's public GitHub profile. Contributors who already have repository access can use its issue tracker. Do not include personal data, secrets or sensitive network details in any GitHub report.
